Who we are
Swarnodhayam Credits Private Limited (SCPL) was established in the year 2010 with the vision of promoting financial inclusion among underserved and unbanked communities. Since its inception, SCPL has extended its services to a large number of individuals, particularly women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to participate actively in the formal financial ecosystem.
The fundamental objective behind the formation of SCPL is to bridge the financial divide in rural India by providing access to credit and financial services to those traditionally excluded from mainstream banking. While a section of the population has access to structured financial networks that support their economic activities and daily needs, a significant portion of rural India remains outside the ambit of formal financial services. SCPL seeks to close this gap and ensure inclusive financial growth.
Many remote and marginalized communities continue to face barriers to accessing basic financial services such as credit, savings, and insurance. SCPL is committed to addressing this challenge by empowering rural households—especially women—through tailored financial products that help improve their economic stability and standard of living.
SCPL has a strong foundation rooted in Grama Vidiyal Trust (GVT), a pioneering institution in microfinance in India. With this legacy, SCPL has built a reputation as a reliable and responsible financial service provider focused on grassroots development.
Since its inception, SCPL has benefitted lakhs of individuals through various credit products designed to support income-generating activities. These small-ticket loans, offered at affordable interest rates, enable low-income individuals to invest in micro-enterprises, thereby facilitating self-employment and economic independence.
In the financial year 2019–20, SCPL achieved a significant milestone by attaining self-sufficiency, demonstrating its operational sustainability and continued relevance in the financial inclusion landscape. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of its grassroots workforce, who have worked tirelessly to implement inclusive financial services with transparency and impact across its operational areas.
Operating in a sector that presents both opportunities and challenges, SCPL stands out as one of the few institutions in India effectively combining community-level engagement with a strategic vision for financial empowerment.
Through its commitment to financial inclusion, SCPL aims to promote equitable access to credit and economic resources, especially for women and underserved populations. Its journey over the past decade is a testament to how a socially-driven institution can evolve into a dynamic and impactful organization, fostering sustainable development and inclusive economic growth.
